What is it that the brain is seeing?!
So what is it that you cannot see but your brain can? That you don’t know you see, but others can see you seeing it? That once you have seen it, you then begin to see how it all works? And that by having seen it, you can start to see all that is unseen?
All will be revealed...
There is so much in this Universe that a human being is not able to perceive, and yet despite it being outside of our awareness, they continue on without a second thought of all the things us humans are completely missing out on.
Mother Nature is however somewhat of a tease, as for many of these things, although we are not aware of them, a human being is able to perceive the EFFECTS of these imperceptible ‘things’.
If we were to consider light for example, which is part of the electromagnetic spectrum, it is estimated that we are only able to see 0.0035% of the entire spectrum, with visible light only coming in a narrow band of approximately 390-700 nanometres. So it seems we can’t see all that much!
What about sound? Well the range of human hearing is generally considered to be 20 Hz to 20 kHz, but it is far more sensitive to sounds between 1 kHz and 4 kHz. Yet in the animal kingdom, whales can hear sounds below 1Hz, and mice can hear sounds up to 100,000 kHz. So we can’t perceive much of that either.
Then, there are some things that we absolutely can perceive, and yet we are not ‘aware’ of them. That is, we are not consciously aware of them.
For example, as you are reading this, I would be willing to bet that you aren’t conscious of the rhythm and depth of your breathing…………….until now.
Another one? I bet you haven’t been consciously aware of the rate your heart is beating……..until now.
Oh go on then one more, I bet you haven’t been aware of that certain sensation………until now.
The point is there are some things that although you may not be consciously ‘aware’ of them, they still carry on outside of your awareness, and you feel the effects of them, like breathing. (I’m sure you would feel the effects of no longer breathing pretty quickly!)
Possibly the more interesting aspect, is that when someone external, or someone ‘on the outside’ so to speak, points things out to you, you can then become aware of what you were previously not aware of. It’s kind of cool really…
When you are involved in an event or incident, which has a strong emotional component, your mind will create a representation of that event in the form of an ‘Emotional Memory Image©’ (EMI). This EMI is stored in a below conscious area approximately 18 inches in front of, and 6 inches above your eyes, and this conceptual area is known as ‘The Screen’. All of this goes on outside of your normal conscious awareness, but if you feel the effects of an EMI, such as in the case of an anxiety or a panic attack, it becomes all you can think about.
Although the EMI is out of your conscious awareness, Brodmann Area 19 (BA19), a part of the visual cortex in the brain CAN AND DOES register the image, the brain CAN perceive the EMI. BA19 communicates with the Amygdala, and the strong emotional component of the EMI causes the Amygdala to initiate the stress response.
This stress response is characterised by the release of an excess of the neurotransmitter norepinephrine and the neuromodulating hormone cortisol into the nervous system. Which as well as having immediate physiological effects (raised heart rate, breathing rate, sweating, dry mouth), extensive research (Segerstrom and Miller (2006) has shown that long term overexposure to these chemicals are implicated in a wide range of chronic health conditions, such as anxiety, depression, chronic digestive issues and chronic pain.
If these EMI’s are a source of many of today’s chronic health conditions, and they are being seen by the brain, but we can’t consciously access them, what can be done?
The answer is to work with someone who has been trained and specialises in helping people access and resolve EMI’s, which means a Body Mind Worker.
A Body Mind Worker will guide you through the Hudson Mind Process©, whereby you will learn how to gain access to these EMI’s in a way that is light, gentle and safe. As the practitioner is external to you, they can act as a feedback mechanism to help you notice where you store your EMI’s relating to the issue you are having. Once this has been achieved, the practitioner can guide you through being able to clear them from your screen.
Once cleared from your screen, this allows the Amygdala to disengage the stress response, halting the chemical surges, allowing brain and body to return to balance. When this occurs the ideal internal environment is created for health to be restored, leading to a natural resolution of many chronic health conditions, without the need for pharmaceutical input.
So the answer to the riddle? An Emotional Memory Image© of course!
